Simple wrap the leather around your scarf and snap it together! You can also snap it together first and thread your scarf through and pull it up to where you want it.

If you are using one with a thin, silk scarf and you find it too lose, simply tie a simple knot under the leather slide and it wont budge.
The burning area may crack which makes these look even cooler over time.
